As director of the Discovery Center for Brain Injury and Concussion Recovery — part of the Schoen Adams Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation — Simon Driver, PhD, leads a team that takes evidence-based interventions and tailors them for the unique needs of people with brain injuries so they can pursue healthy lifestyles.

A healthy lifestyle is a longstanding passion both personally and professionally for Driver, who trains for and competes in triathlons. He draws parallels between his research and his recreation, as both realms require hard work, a commitment to improving outcomes, and social support.

“When you deliver an intervention and you see people’s lives changing, it’s really rewarding,” he says.
