Tim and TIL: A second chance

Tim had exhausted standard treatments for the melanoma that had spread to his liver, lungs, and pelvis. FDA approval of tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy, and a multidisciplinary team at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute, gave him a second chance.

Our clinical trials and research
Our researchers and clinicians are conducting thousands of studies in every major discipline of medical therapy and technology. Our patients are currently enrolled in more than 3,700 ongoing clinical trials, including recent groundbreaking trials for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and glioblastoma, to accelerate bringing new treatments to our patients and the world.
Biobank
The Mass General Brigham Biobank is a large research program designed to help researchers learn how people’s health is affected by their genes, lifestyle, and environment. Participants and funders help us better understand, treat, and even prevent the diseases that might affect their health and the health of future generations.
Mass General Brigham AI
With dedicated initiatives and expert teams, Mass General Brigham is at the forefront of creating and incorporating novel artificial intelligence tools, systems, and infrastructure to advance all aspects of our life-changing mission. Our holistic approach to AI is ethical, equitable, and responsible, rooted in human oversight and driven by quality.
Gene and cell therapy
Researchers at Mass General Brigham are leaders in gene and cell therapies, translating their findings into treatment for patients through clinical trials. We bring together 400 leading gene and cell therapy researchers with multidisciplinary expertise from five nationally ranked academic medical centers to accelerate innovation and ultimately improve patient care for many diseases.
